Mad Greek was founded in 1998 by Jerry Tzakis, a Greek native with more than 30 years’ experience in the restaurant industry.  Jerry opened his first restaurant in New York City in the 1950s, shortly after immigrating to the U.S.  From there he went on to own and operate more than 15 establishments in New York, Chicago, Utah, and Kefallonia, Greece. 

Jerry took a break from the restaurant business to pursue a career as a real estate agent.  One day while on a call, he came across an abandoned building and envisioned a new restaurant that would serve traditional Greek dishes in a family-friendly environment.  He contacted the owner of the property, a deal was struck, and Mad Greek was born.

From savory gyros to mouthwatering souvlaki, the Mad Greek menu is authentically Grecian.  Jerry has drawn on the favorite recipes from in his childhood to recreate the best of Greek cuisine.
